DRUGS, HIV/AIDS and A Beach
I just arrived back from a three day shoot in P.D. Although we were put up in a 4 star hotel, and had a room facing the beach, we had very little time to sit and take in the beautiful scenery…I was wonderful though. I’ve never actually stayed in a hotel room literally facing the water…only a few meters away…I could even see the sun setting on the water from my balcony!!!
I was on a shoot for Unicef. They contacted me and asked me to produce a video report on a workshop they organized for young journalists. Unicef’s objective for this workshop was to raise awareness not only about HIV/AIDS in relation to drug use, but also to help youths in media understand how much influence they have on their audience.
Three days and two nights of constant eating, drinking and shooting…I’m a stuffed turkey…and a zombie! I think I gained 2kg over the weekend…but lost about ten hours of sleep. So I’ll have to loose the calories and gain more sleep over the next week…but somehow, with the deadline of my Unicef video…it’s not looking like I’ll be catching any ZZZZZZZzzzzs
But hey, when it comes to producing videos with a “cause,” sleep suddenly becomes a little less important.
