I went to a pre-Halloween party on Saturday. I say “pre” because Oct. 31st is this Friday…I’ve never actually dressed up BEFORE Oct. 31st…but there’s a first time for everything : )
I just want to say, that I was awed by the enthusiasm of TJJ members as they came decked out in their tin foil, fake blood, ripped clothes and make up. The house and garden decorations were fantastic with the cobwebs, glow-in-the dark skeleton and candle-lit lanterns…Tom’s house looked fabulous! Never would I have imagined a group of Malaysians getting together and really dressing up for an American festival of ghosts and ghouls. For many, it was their very first Halloween party…how cute!
I totally tried to weasel my way out of playing charades but TJJ members refused to let me sneak away. So, I silenced my ego and gave in. It turned out to be the most fun I had all night! Actually, I was pretty good at acting out the movies and "animals in action"...*pat on the back* but I must admit, my outstanding charades performance was most probably due to the fact that I had gulped back almost and entire bottle of Rose wine by myself! It was just sitting out on the drinks table, untouched…I couldn't possibly allow such a nice bottle of drink to go to waste…right?
For three years, I’ve been back in S.E.A. since graduating from Denver Uni. And I’ve been dying to dress up on Oct. 31st…so I am incredibly pleased to have been able to dress-up with my leopard ears, leopard print mini skirt and boots on! I came as a "Puss in Boots" but because it is customary in Malaysia to leave shoes at the door...I was stripped of my boots and was reluctantly reduced to a "Puss in knee-high socks." Nevertheless, my black socks looked like boots and served their purpose : )
T.J.J. – You guys have my meow of approval ; )
I will leave you with Sharon’s accounts of the evening…
